Georgian Terrace House
Location: City Centre, Bristol
Project type: Residential interior design, whole-house concept
A gentle whole-house uplift for a four-storey Georgian family home in Bristol.
This four-storey Georgian terrace in Bristol didn’t need tearing apart – just a calm, coherent rethink for modern family life. The house already had great bones, but it was feeling tired and a little disconnected, with each floor telling a slightly different story.
Rather than major structural changes, the focus is on a gentle, whole-house uplift: reimagining the existing kitchen with new door colours, adding fitted wardrobes and bookshelves, introducing an additional toilet/bathroom, and updating radiators, sockets and switches to versions that feel more in keeping with the Georgian character of the home.
The palette and detailing take their cues from traditional Georgian colours, but everything is tuned to everyday family living – practical, calm and comfortable, with a quiet nod to the house’s history in every room.
A gentle transformation, but a complete one – evolving a much-loved Georgian townhouse into a cohesive, contemporary family home.

“Emilie is just lovely to work with. Creative, responsive, and very experienced. We needed help moving forward with a few different rooms. She came up with so many ideas we love: short-term fixes and more substantial redesign ideas, and helped me make some decisions I've been holding off on for years. I've recommended her to everyone”
